Chaguar Basket Natural - Medium 01
Our basket bowls are hand-woven from the strong Chaguar fiber gathered by the Wichi women in northern Argentina. After gathering the wild crop, Wichi women process the Chaguar (Tropical bromeliad) using a traditional method that includes soaking the harvest, extracting individual fibers and spinning them into weavable threads using ash. Finally, they weave these bowls and other pieces using ancestral techniques and natural dyes. A long process, full of patience, love and respect for nature.
