Handwoven Chaguar Basket Selva - Medium
Our Chaguar baskets are great for all sorts of storage —kitchen, bathroom, catchall or simply appreciated as art. Hand woven from the strong Chaguar fiber (a type of bromeliad) gathered by the Wichi women in northern Argentina, this bowl imbues any space with a refined elegance.
After gathering the wild crop, Wichi women process the Chaguar using a traditional method that includes soaking the harvest, extracting individual fibers and spinning them into weavable threads using ash. Finally, they weave these bowls and other pieces using ancestral techniques and natural dyes.
Size:
Colors: Natural (undyed), black and brown details
Fibre: 100% Chaguar
Technique: Handspun, handwoven
Origin: Wichí Community, Northern Argentina

Colors and sizes may slightly vary due to the unique, handcrafted nature of each piece and each artisan’s creative process.
